Overnight Desert Camp – FAQs

Can I stay overnight without riding a camel?

Yes. You can usually reach the camp by 4×4 or quad bike if you prefer not to ride a camel.

Yes, one night is enough if you are short on time. You can enjoy the sunset, dinner, stargazing, and sunrise. If you have more time, we recommend 2 nights: one night in the desert camp and one night in a hotel to relax by the pool, with time for a 4×4 desert tour, Rissani market, Khamlia and Gnaoua music, a nomad family visit, an oasis, or a seasonal lake.

Merzouga can be reached by car, private transfer, or organized tour from cities such as Marrakech or Fes.

Yes, July and August can be hot during the day, but the nights are usually much more pleasant. From September to June is generally the best time to visit Merzouga, with more comfortable temperatures.

Both are great options. If you’re looking for comfort and luxury, I’d recommend a luxury camp, which typically offers private bathrooms, comfortable beds, and additional amenities. If you prefer a more traditional experience and want to feel closer to the nomadic way of life, a standard camp is an excellent choice, offering a simpler and more authentic desert atmosphere.
