7 Days Desert Tour From Marrakech Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech (Transfer to Your Accommodation)

Upon your arrival at Menara Airport, our driver will be there to warmly welcome you and transfer you to your Riad/hotel, where you will spend the night.

Day 2: Full day to Explore Marrakech with a local guide

After enjoying breakfast at the riad, you’ll embark on a guided morning tour of Marrakech, known as “the Red City of Morocco.” Your guide will take you to key historical and cultural sites, including the Koutoubia Minaret, the Saadian Tombs, the stunning Bahia Palace, and the Ben Youssef Koranic School.

As you stroll through the medina’s winding alleys, you’ll have the opportunity to admire various artisans at work before reaching the famous Jemaa El-Fna Square.

You’ll have lunch at a restaurant near the square, followed by an afternoon visit to the Majorelle Gardens and a brief tour of Gueliz, the new part of Marrakech. After the tour, you can explore the square, where you’ll be entertained by magicians, storytellers, tooth-pullers, and food vendors,In the evening, return to your hotel/riad, where you will spend a comfortable night.

Day 3: Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Skoura - Dades Gorge

After breakfast, we depart from Marrakech and journey towards the Dades Gorges, passing through the majestic High Atlas Mountains. We’ll ascend the 2,260-meter Tizi N’Tichka Pass, offering stunning views of villages perched on the mountainsides.

Next, we continue to Ouarzazate, traversing the arid stone desert, and visit the Kasbah of Taourirt and the renowned film studios. After lunch, we’ll drive through the picturesque Dades Valley, along the famous “Road of One Thousand Kasbahs,” passing the charming town of Skoura and reaching Kelaat Magouna, known for its roses. Upon arrival in Dades Gorges, spend the night with a delicious dinner in hotel/Riad.

Day 4: Dades Gorge - Todra Gorge - Erfoud - Merzouga Desert

On the fourth day of your Marrakech Desert tour, you’ll explore the stunning Todgha Gorges, passing through Berber villages and the scenic Dades Valley. The towering canyons, rising up to 300 meters, provide a fantastic trekking opportunity and are popular with mountain climbers. After your trek, continue your journey towards the Erg Chebbi dunes in the Merzouga Sahara Desert.

Lunch will be served before you reach Erfoud. From there, embark on a 1 to 1.5-hour camel ride to your luxury desert camp, where you can enjoy the spectacular sunset along the way.

In the evening, indulge in a traditional Moroccan dinner, Spend the night under the stars, experiencing life as a nomad, with the soothing sounds of Berber music setting the atmosphere.

Day 5: Explore the Merzouga area

Rise early to experience the breathtaking sunrise over the sand dunes, followed by a delicious breakfast at the camp. Then, we’ll embark on a journey through the Merzouga area, starting with Khamlia Village, home to the descendants of Mali. Enjoy a tranquil cup of tea while listening to the soulful sounds of live Gnawa music, immersing yourself in the cultural rhythms.

We’ll continue to the vibrant Rissani market, famous for its lively souks and unique handmade crafts. You can also indulge in a delicious Berber pizza, a local specialty, for lunch.

In the afternoon, we’ll return to Merzouga, where you’ll be treated to a savory dinner before spending a restful night in the comfort of your riad/hotel.

Day 6: Merzouga Desert - Draa Valley - Nkob - Agdz - Ouarzazate

Wake up early to witness the stunning sunrise, then return to your starting point after freshening up and enjoying breakfast at the camp. We’ll continue our 7-day Marrakech desert tour, departing towards the Tafilalet Palm Grove and the town of Rissani, the birthplace of the Alaouite Dynasty.

Explore the ancient capital of the Alaouite Sultans before heading to the village of Alnif. Here, we’ll take the road that crosses the Jbel Saghro Anti-Atlas range. Take in the impressive greyish-black mountains with their unique shapes as we make our way to the Berber villages of Tazzarine and N’kob, before driving into the Draa Valley, which is lined with majestic palm trees.

In the late afternoon, we’ll drive to Ouarzazate via the Anti-Atlas Mountains, taking the Tizi N’Tniffift pass. You’ll spend the night in a Riad/Kasbah in Ouarzazate.

Day 7: Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech

In the morning, we’ll depart from Ouarzazate to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, renowned as Morocco’s most stunning and well-preserved kasbah. This iconic location has served as the backdrop for numerous films, including “The Mummy,” “Gladiator,” “7 Days in Tibet,” “Alexander the Great,” and “Babel.”

After exploring Ait Ben Haddou, we’ll head towards the majestic Atlas Mountains. We’ll traverse the High Atlas via Tizi N’Tichka, the highest mountain pass in Morocco at 2,260 meters, offering breathtaking views of valleys, mountains, and nearby Berber villages. Afterward, we’ll drive back to Marrakech, where our 7 days from Marrakech desert tour finishes.
