4 Days Family Tour From Marrakech to Merzouga Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Skoura - Dades Gorge

We’ll pick you up from your accommodation or meeting point in Marrakech to start your 4 days desert adventure. Enjoy a scenic drive through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the impressive Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m) and taking in the views of traditional Berber villages perched on the hillsides.

Next, continue to Ouarzazate, often called the “Gateway to the Desert.” After lunch, follow the famous “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs,” passing through Skoura and Kelaat M’Gouna, renowned for its rose fields. Arrive at the Dades Gorges in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Dades Gorge - Todra Gorge - Erfoud - Merzouga Desert

On the second day of your Marrakech Desert tour, after breakfast, trek through the canyons, which rise to 300 meters, a favorite spot for mountain climbers. Explore the stunning Todra Gorge and take a scenic walk along the river, surrounded by the towering mountains.

After your canyon trek, continue toward the Erg Chebbi dunes in the Merzouga Sahara Desert, stopping for lunch in Erfoud along the way. Upon arrival at Erg Chebbi, enjoy a scenic camel ride to your desert camp, taking in the breathtaking sunset over the dunes. If seasonal waters are present, visit the nearby lake. Next, explore Mefis, an abandoned village with remnants of colonial-era lead and mineral mines.

Day 4: Merzouga - N'kob - Agdz - Ouarzazate - Marrakech

Today is the end of your 4 days family tour. After breakfast, you leave the desert and begin your return journey to Marrakech along an alternative scenic route.

Traveling through Berber villages, you will pass Rissani, Alnif, Tazarine, N’kob, and the beautiful Draa Valley in Agdz. Lunch stops will be made along the way before passing through Ouarzazate and crossing the High Atlas Mountains on the drive back to Marrakech, bringing your memorable desert adventure to a close.
