3 Days Desert Tour From Marrakech to Fes Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades Gorge
Pick up provided from the hotel/Riad, then toward Ouarzazate, via the renowned Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, which rises to 2,260 meters in the High Atlas Mountains. This is how the first of our Desert tour from Marrakech.
Then enjoy the colorful landscapes along with the villages on your way from Marrakech. They are often referred to as the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Ait Ben Haddou, the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Falls on the way and is a famous spot with movies like “Lawrence of Arabia,” “The Jewel of the Nile,” and “Gladiator.”
Next, head towards Ouarzazate, passing through the Skoura palm grove and the Valley of the Roses, known for its production of Moroccan roses and rose products. Travel through the strange rock creation of Tamnalt Hills and Dades Gorge, carved by the Dades River for centuries. Then, enjoying a mystical night right at the heart of the gorge.
Day 2: Dades Gorge - Todra Gorge - Merzouga Desert
On the second day of your trip Marrakech to Fes tour. Another gorge named Todra awaits you with the roads through the Berber village and Dades valley. You can trek the canyons, which are around 300m high, and a favorite place for mountain climbers. Once finished,
with the trekking, head towards the Erg Chebbi dunes in the Merzouga Sahara Desert. Lunch will be served before arriving at Erfoud. From Erg Chebbi, You can enjoy a scenic camel ride towards the camp.. Enjoy the fabulous sunset on the way. Experience life as a nomad by spending the night beneath a starlit sky, accompanied by the sounds of Berber music.
Day 3: Merzouga Desert - Rissani - Ziz Valley - Azrou - Fes
After waking up to the stunning sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi, you’ll enjoy a delicious breakfast at the camp. Following a refreshing shower, you can choose to ride camels back to the starting point or opt for a 4WD transfer, whichever you prefer.
Once you’ve explored Merzouga, you’ll continue your journey toward Fes, passing through the picturesque Ziz Valley and Midelt. You’ll also visit Ifrane, often referred to as Morocco’s Switzerland, and stroll through the famous Middle Atlas cedar forest in Azrou, where you can capture photos of the playful Barbary apes.
You’ll arrive in Fes in the late afternoon, ready to relax at your riad or hotel, filled with amazing stories and unforgettable memories from your adventure.
