3 Days Fes to Marrakech desert tour Itinerary
Day 1: Fes - Ifrane - Azrou (Cedar forest) - Midelt - Erfoud - Merzouga (Sahara)
Your 3 days desert tour from Fes to Marrakech begins with breakfast at your hotel or riad, followed by a scenic drive into the Moroccan desert. Our first destination will be Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” before we continue through the breathtaking Middle Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we’ll pause at the cedar forests to see the playful Barbary macaques.
Afterward, enjoy a delicious lunch in Midelt, then continue towards Merzouga, passing through the picturesque Ziz Valley. By afternoon, we’ll arrive in the Merzouga desert and embark on an exciting camel trek to a luxury desert camp set within the Erg Chebbi dunes, where you’ll be treated to an unforgettable sunset over the golden sand.
Once the sun sets, we’ll head to the camp for a traditional Moroccan dinner. Later, enjoy the sounds of Saharan drumming, hear captivating stories, and relax under the starlit sky, taking in the vast desert landscape.
Day 2: Merzouga (Sahara) - Rissani - Todgha Gorges - Dades Gorges
After a peaceful sunrise and breakfast at your luxury camp, you can choose your preferred return mode to Merzouga town (a camel trek or 4×4 car ride).
Then you begin your journey towards Dades Gorges. We will Pass through the desert landscape, Rissani and Erfoud. If it’s market day in Rissani (Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday), take the opportunity to explore the vibrant local souk.
We will continue to the impressive Todgha Gorges, where you can enjoy a leisurely walk along the river and marvel at the towering Mountains. After exploring the gorges, you’ll continue to Dades Gorges, where you’ll spend the night in a riad/hotel, with a delicious dinner.
Day 3: Dades Gorges - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech
On the last day of our 3-Day Fes to Marrakech Desert Tour, we will pass through the Dades Valley and the Valley of Roses before reaching Ouarzazate. Along the way, you’ll visit the historic Kasbah of Taourirt.
Next, we’ll stop at Ait Ben Haddou for a delicious lunch before discovering the breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage kasbah, known for its role in numerous blockbusters.
The journey continues through the majestic High Atlas Mountains, with views of small Berber villages, waterfalls, and scenic valleys. We’ll cross the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass before arriving in Marrakech in the afternoon, where your unforgettable tour concludes.
